James Stanley Harris, or as most of us call him, “Mr. Stanley” or “Big Stan,” is a resident of South Dallas and one of the Co-Founders of Bike Friendly South Dallas. He has served as our We-Cycle Resource Center Manager since it opened its doors in 2018.
Stan began riding bikes as a young kid. As an older adult, he now uses his knowledge and experience as a seasoned rider to encourage his fellow younger generations to ride bikes and get comfortable repairing them to keep them off the streets and out of trouble.
Sadly, shortly after becoming involved with Bike Friendly South Dallas, Stan lost his beloved mother shortly after. While on her deathbed and before her passing, he made a promise to his mother that he would use his life to do something to make her proud. Serving on the Board and volunteering with Bike Friendly South Dallas is his way of doing so and giving back to his community.
Stan also often rides with us as one of our leaders during our community bike rides and as serves as our Route Coordinator for our special events.

Raynard is a native of Dallas, TX, and lived in South Dallas until age 17. As a child, the bicycle was his vehicle for visiting friends houses and exploring the neighborhood.
The first company he worked for after completing college had a competitive running club that he joined. In 1979 a member sustained an ankel injury so he and a few fellow employees began riding bicycles. Upon realizing the joys and benefits of cycling again, it became his main mode of fitness and recreation, and he has been riding ever since.
He has participated in numerous charity century rides, some races and has been an avid cyclist since 1980. He began volunteering with various bicycle charities in 2015 and heard about the Bike Friendly South Dallas Pop-Up bike repairs in South Dallas. He was excited for the opportunity to give back to his childhood community and in 2016 began assisting them with mechanical bicycle repair and cycling experience.
After several visits, he joined Board in June of 2019. Raynard is a seasoned cyclists and an advocate of Cycling, Health and Fitness and offers many years and miles of cycling experience.
