Local instructors teach teens (13 and up) and adults to ride a bicycle. These are taught one on one, or in small groups. Students can bring their own bikes, but they MUST have hand brakes and fit properly. Don't have a bike? No problem. We have a limited number of loaner bikes that are available upon request. Students must have a proper fitting helmet for this class.
Bicycling Skills 123 Adult is composed of several parking lot drills to learn basic bicycling handling skills. You'll learn the correct way to start and stop on a bike, simple maneuvering techniques, scanning and signaling. This is a great class for those just starting out, but are not ready for Traffic Skills 101. Students must have a bicycle with hand brakes - in good working condition, and a helmet.
Smart Cycling: Traffic Skills 101 gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Through Smart Cycling, students learn how to conduct bicycle safety checks, on-bike skills, and crash avoidance techniques. We recommended this class for adults and children above age fourteen. The curriculum is fast-paced and prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling. Students must have a bicycle with hand brakes - in good working condition, and a helmet.
